Changes were again forced upon us this weekend with Rita succumbing to a shoulder injury. Jess Evans stepped in for us and gained some welcome experience at this level. We welcomed back Leigh Garster from a prolonged illness and Katie Kneen from Uni commitments. Annie May Walsh reverted to WD. From the outset our opponents were up for this game, pushing us for every pass. Jess Evans and Leigh were working quite well together with Jess linking well with both Jan and Katie. Alex and Lisa again worked hard in defence supported well by Annie May. The game was evenly matched up until midway through the first period when a string of our passes were easily intercepted allowing our opponents to take a nine goal lead into the half time break, mainly scored by their GA who was outstanding. The girls showed distinct improvement in the second period with Katie Kneen leading the way with some powerful passing. Annie May's effort was immense and Jess Evans looked more confident with her movement and clever passes around the goal. Leigh was scoring more freely and Jan was more successful with her passes into the goal area. In the end we cut the deficit down to six goals, but the game had been lost in the first half. Katie Kneen was named player for her tireless display.
