The enthusiasm of the girls was encouraging to see and their standard of play improved a great deal during the 2 months. We are hoping to continue this and form a Winter League for the girls to compete in. It was an enjoyable and friendly competition.
Young volunteers were also present during this league to umpire games for the younger girls. They were all very professionally mentored by Karen Simpson who gave her time on three evenings to encourage the girls and pass on her umpiring wisdom and expertise.
We hope this will be an ongoing thing with Karen continuing to monitor our young umpiring volunteers and guide them to their "C" award qualification.
