The Chesterfield Community Netball Club {CCNC} was established on the 25th January 2003. Beverly McNally, a junior school teacher and Sefton Schools Sports coordinator, together with Mike Traynor, Director of Sport at Chesterfield, identified the need for a school / club link for a Netball team at Chesterfield involving local children within the community.
Beverley approached both Rita and Kristina Maguire to take up the challenge of coaching a children's and ladies team. Rita coached the ladies and both Rita and Kristina coached the children.
In 2004 the girls U14 team entered the Merseyside County Junior league whilst the Ladies played in the Liverpool league.
In 2005 came a new U13 "Youth" team with a new coach Jon May. His team have played in the Merseyside / Cheshire league, Skelmersdale league and in 2007 started playing in the Ladies team in the 4th division of the Liverpool Sunday league.
In 2006 Jackie Wright took over the coach's role of Chesterfield Blues ( U16's ) and went on to win the prestigious award of National Clubs for Young People Tournament in July of the same year.
In 2007 Rita Maguire took on the role of Junior Club Coach for Yr 7 ( U11 ) & Yr 8 ( U12 ) and Yr 9 (U13) with Mike Kneen and Senior girls Volunteering at these sessions. Lorraine Draper took on the role of Team Manager for the Youth team.
Also in 2007 the club was awarded a "Club Action Planning Scheme" C.A.P.S. "Bronze award".
To date 2008/2009 the Club has over 65 members and is working towards "Silver", C.A.P.S. Accreditation. The Club supports, and is actively involved with Merseyside County Management Committee, with several of our girls attending its Satellite Academies.
